Our volunteers are an integral part of our organization
JFS volunteers, who dedicate their unique talents, skills, and knowledge, are indispensable to the work we do. We connect volunteers to agency programs or to the greater Middlesex County area via the RSVP program, which is a positive and enriching experience for volunteers and clients alike.
If you want to join the more than 200 volunteers making a difference in our community, consider the following opportunities:
- The Women’s Center
- Career Center
- Senior services
- Kosher Meals on Wheels (drivers needed)
- Friendly visitor (phone calls only)
- Hosts and hostesses
- Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP)
- State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP)
- Immigration and citizenship services
- Office workers
- Food pantry
RSVP is our federally funded program that connects individuals ages 55+ with volunteer opportunities in their community
RSVP is part of Senior Corps, a federally funded program of the Corporation for National & Community Service whose mission is to provide opportunity for individuals 55 years of age and older to volunteer their service to their community. It has over 500,000 members nationwide. JFS holds the Middlesex County grant.
The program identifies volunteers and volunteer opportunities in the county and makes a careful connection. Numerous RSVP volunteer opportunities are available throughout Middlesex County. Each volunteer opportunity is different; requiring different skills, level of commitment, and training. Volunteers can choose where to serve, when to serve, how much time they want to serve, and whether to share their skills or develop new ones.
