Food Pantry & Seasonal
Our Kosher Food Pantries are open to all
Our pantries offer shelf-stable food which is available year-round. Baby supplies such as formula and diapers are also available. Pick-up is by appointment only; call 732-777-1940.
Individuals from all backgrounds are welcome at JFS and food is provided to any resident of Middlesex County. Bags of shelf-stable groceries are given to clients twice a month or as needed. JFS offers a wide variety of nutritious foods that appeal to people of all ages and ethnicities, including vegetables, beans, soups, fruit, cereals, rice, pasta, tomato sauce, pancakes, condiments, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, matzah, and more.
Intake workers survey households to determine particular dietary needs and preferences, and also to assess what other issues may be affecting the family. Referrals to other JFS programs or community partner agencies are made in an effort to address the holistic needs of each family and to promote self-sufficiency. Food pantry recipients often are referred for job counseling, immigration services, or mental health counseling.
Monetary donations or gift cards are always welcome. Donations of unexpired, kosher, shelf-stable food are always needed. To coordinate a donation, please contact JFS at 732-777-1940.
Passover
Every year, JFS provides families in need with grocery cards to purchase Kosher for Passover food to celebrate the holiday. Hundreds of individuals are able to enjoy Passover every year because of the JFS Passover Drive.
Eligible individuals can sign up to enroll in the program several weeks before Passover. JFS is in need of monetary donations to support this effort.
School Supply Drive
School supplies are provided for grade school aged children in late August for registered JFS client families. A supply drive is held annually in the summer to collect much-needed items and monetary donations.
December Holiday Gifts
Children’s gifts are available for the December holidays for registered JFS client families. A toy drive is held annually in late autumn to collect toys, gift cards, and monetary donations. To make a donation, please call 732-777-1940.
