Friendly Visitors

Many elderly adults face the risk of social isolation in their later years. They may become isolated over time from their communities, as well as from friends and family. Jewish Family Services sends volunteers to the homes of isolated senior adults to provide socialization and a sense of connectedness to the community. Telephone calls provide additional support by offering more frequent contact and reassurance. Our goal is to prevent and alleviate the physical and mental health risks linked to social separation. This program benefits seniors, older and disabled adults by addressing loneliness and isolation often experienced by individuals who may have no family members or support system.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row]
