Community Services

Our long history and tradition of providing the community services to individuals, organizations and businesses is evident. In recent years, over 300 volunteers have supported the community each year with over 10,000 hours of service, providing assistance with food, clothing and help in addressing issues that affect the daily lives of individuals and families with the goal of enabling others to improve their quality of life.

Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County relies on our many dedicated volunteers to provide valuable quality support to departments within the agency and in the community. JFS employs their skills and talents delivering Meals on Wheels, making and delivering holiday food baskets, teaching English as a Second Language, chairing committees, or assisting staff. If you would like more information any of these services or programs, want to volunteer, donate, or help in some way, please call JFS Milltown at 732-777-1940 or Monroe Township at 609-395-7129.

Essential Needs

This program along with the Kosher Food Pantry provides food, baby supplies and assistance to families in need throughout Middlesex County. The economy and limited income has made it difficult for many families to meet basic needs. JFS tries to fill some of the gaps. Our services are available to anyone in need — regardless of their ethnic origin or religious preference.

Family Life Education

Offering programs designed to stimulate thinking about issues that matter to families JFS reaches out to the community. Our educators may hold programs in our meeting room or plan a custom program to be presented on-site for community organizations or area companies. Programs can be designed in a single session or in multiple session formats.

Senior Medical Patrol

JRecovery gives strength, hope and support to those facing addictions and especially to their family and friends. The confidential group meetings utilize a 12 step literature, Jewish writings and texts to recover from addiction and co-dependency. The free meetings are held every Monday night at JFS, 32 Ford Avenue, Second Floor in Milltown, from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
